ABOUT THE TOUR
The 8th annual Pittsburgh Urban Farm Tour is a self-guided experience that offers participants the opportunity to explore Pittsburgh's urban farm locations and witness their crucial contributions. These farms not only educate community members on food cultivation but also work towards purifying the environment, ensuring access to fresh local produce, and transforming neglected areas into vibrant green spaces.
Urban farms play a significant role in our food system, local economy, and cityscape. To support the farmers managing these sites, it is essential to provide them with the necessary resources and funding for success. Proceeds from the Farm Tour go towards aiding participating sites and the Urban Growers Scholarship Fund. This fundraising event offers tickets on a sliding scale, allowing everyone to contribute generously based on their capacity.
Presented by the Pittsburgh Food Policy Council, Grow Pittsburgh, Chatham University Food Studies Program, and Pasa Sustainable Agriculture, this event aims to celebrate and support the urban farming community in Pittsburgh.
