This group focuses on food Entrepreneurship and addressing issues of:
Institutional food procurement and making it as simple as possible for local institutions to purchase locally.
Worker dignity, fair wages, and equitable working conditions for all food workers.
Education of local businesses about pertinent regulations to help their businesses thrive.
The regional Food Economy working group is currently led by Nick Goodfellow, Sustainability Coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh, and Nicole Muise-Kielkucki, Director at Fourth Economy.
