Call for Co-Chair Nominations: Urban Ag & Land Access Working Groups 〰️

PFPC is seeking nominations for Co-Chairs to help lead our Urban Agriculture and Land Access Working Groups. These leadership roles are an opportunity to help shape policy, guide program direction, and foster inclusive spaces for collaboration.

Co-Chairs serve for two-year terms and work closely with PFPC staff and community members to move shared goals forward. Learn more and submit your nomination below!

Land Access Working Group: Co-Chair

Deadline: August 15, 2025

Description:

The Land Access Working Group focuses on identifying and addressing barriers to land access for growers and community members, while advocating for equitable land use policy.

Co-Chair responsibilities include:

  • Conduct monthly Land Access Meetings

  • Lead agenda development (with Co-Chair and PFPC staff).

  • Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and productive space for discussion and decision-making.

  • Manage discussion

  • Focus on solutions

  • Collaborate with PFPC and Subcommittee members to refine, review, and communicate policy ideas.

  • Lead implementation of next steps in collaboration with Co-Chair and PFPC staff.


urban ag Working Group: Co-Chair

Deadline: September 30, 2025

Description:

The Urban Ag Working Group brings together growers, advocates, and food system stakeholders to promote policies and programs that support urban farming in Pittsburgh.

Co-Chair responsibilities include:

  • Help review Urban Agriculture Scholarship Grant applications 

  • Lead agenda development (with Co-Chair and PFPC staff).

  • Assist in the development and planning of the Urban Ag Farm Tour

  • Co-host with PFPC, when applicable, monthly Urban Agriculture Working Group Meetings.

  • Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and productive space for discussion and decision-making.

  • Collaborate with PFPC and Subcommittee members to refine, review, and communicate policy ideas.

  • Lead implementation of next steps in collaboration with Co-Chair and PFPC staff.
